I’ve been writing since I was 12. I had diaries—recording my experiences and thoughts. Journaling helps me reduce my stresses and enhance my self-awareness.
I create handmade books so others will get encouraged to write down their thoughts too. Also, I believe in the artistry of tradition and the power of personal expression. I love anything that’s purely made by hand and materials you can touch and feel.
Each book is a unique labor of love, where craftsmanship meets creativity.
In a world of mass production, I want to offer something that is deeply personal and timeless—books that tell stories not just through words, but through the texture of their pages, the binding, and the attention to detail. Every stitch and fold reflects my commitment to preserving the art of handmade craftsmanship while allowing for a rich, expressive experience with each page turned.
Papers and art supplies has always been my companion and they have a very special place in my heart.
About me…
I’m Mari, I'm an artist and a bookbinder.
I graduated with bachelor’s degree in Architectural Drafting but found my passion through arts and decided to pursue it after graduating. I've been a full-time artist now since 2019.
I found some bookbinding videos on YouTube, learned from them and eventually decided to take courses about bookbinding to enhance my skills. I've been bookbinding now since 2022.
Why "Papeari"?
Papeari comes from the Spanish word "papel" which means paper and combined it with my name, "Mari".
